Coaxial Cable Wall Grommet

You can pass your coax right through a wall without messy, costly connectors by using this wall grommet. Simply drill a hole in the plasterboard according to the diameters below. Then slip this over the end of your coax and jam it into the plaster where it will have a tight interference fit. This installation won't upset your wife, making the cable exit look nice and professional. You might not even find these devices for sale. There are now five types you can choose from: * 10mm diameter: typically used by ham radio operators or those who need low-loss satellite cables. * 8mm diameter: often used in TV antennas, cable TV, and satellite communications. * 7mm diameter: commonly used for TV antennas, cable TV, and satellite cables. * 6mm diameter: usually used for video cables and TV antennas. * 5mm diameter: typically used by CB or ham radio operators. If you're unsure, just measure the diameter of your cable and select the next largest grommet in the list. Simply drill a hole in the wall, being careful not to hit a water pipe or electrical mains cable! This assumes it's legal for you to drill into your own wall and that you're competent enough to do so. The hole diameters shown below are about 1mm smaller than the outside diameter of the interference fit prongs. Just twist and force the grommet into the plaster hole, and it will "cut" the plaster for a tight fit. For the 10mm version, the hole diameter should be 13mm. For the 8mm version, the hole diameter should be 11mm. For the 7mm version, the hole diameter should be 10mm. For the 6mm version, the hole diameter should be 9mm. For the 5mm version, the hole diameter should be 9mm. Hams out there are free to leave their ham radio call signs in the comments section.
