Coat of Arms - Kutná Hora

myminifactory

The original Gothic coat of arms on the south transept pillar of St Barbara cathedral in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic, suffered severe damage in the 19th century. A sketch from Josef Mockers's workshop dating back to the 1880s offers a glimpse into what it looked like originally. Kutna Hora was famous for its silver mines during medieval times and once supplied the entire Czech Kingdom with silver currency. The model of miners carrying the coat of arms was designed to closely resemble the Gothic original as much as possible.
