Coat of arms Estrada family (Picón, Spain)
sketchfab
The coat of arms of the Estrada family is proudly displayed in the heart of Picón, a small town nestled in the province of Ciudad Real, Spain. This historic emblem once belonged to Luis Alfonso de Estrada, a proud son of Alonso de Estrada, who served as Governor of New Spain under King Felipe II's reign in 1564. Luis Alfonso de Estrada took it upon himself to commission the construction of Picón's City Hall just one year later, and remarkably, much of this structure remains intact to this day. Only two examples of Estrada family coats of arms have been documented in relief form - the first can be found in the San Pedro church of Ciudad Real, while this particular coat of arms is preserved within a building in Picón itself. To delve deeper into the history of this esteemed family, readers are encouraged to consult V. M. López- Menchero Bendicho's 2007 publication, "Alonso de Estrada: el ciudarrealeño que llegó a ser gobernador de la Nueva España en tiempos del emperador Carlos V," featured in Estudos Ibero-Americanos volume XXXIII, number 1, pages 86-108. This intricate coat of arms was meticulously recreated using Reality Capture technology, which involved the processing of 26 distinct images. Additional enhancements were made possible through Geomagic Wrap, Zbrush, Substance Designer, and Blender software.
