Coat Hanger Hybrid 3D Printer Kick Stand Design

Coat hangers are incredibly versatile and perfect for all sorts of maker projects! In this project, I aimed to create a 3D printed kickstand that could seamlessly integrate into any future designs. The kickstand needed to be easy to implement, robust, and affordable to make and replicate. Initially, I attempted to design the stand as a single piece 3D print. Although it was an intriguing project, I encountered significant frustration due to its instability and poor durability. Cleanup was also extremely challenging. However, I soon discovered the coat hanger approach – watch the provided video to see how this method works. This product was designed as a drop-in component for Fusion 360, allowing it to be easily added to any case or project requiring a kickstand. So far, I've successfully utilized it in two projects, and it has proven to be an exceptional solution for a stable and robust stand.
