Coat hanger - compound
thingiverse
This is a continuation of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3335282 I think the previous design is best suited for everyday use, but it has some natural limitations and disadvantages. For example, its cross-section diameter is uniform throughout, which can be a problem if you need to use a narrower or wider tube. A Ø16mm hook C-section seems acceptable, but a Ø25mm or larger might be overkill. To address this issue, I reworked the design to include three different diameters: hook, upper, and lower tube. The common dimensions for all hanger parts are in the common.scad file. The hanger on the photo was built using Ø32mm and Ø16mm tubes, which have lengths of approximately 169mm and 370mm for a total length of 45cm. When you load the hook.scad script, it will display these tube lengths in the console window. I've uploaded STL files for the hanger shown on the photo, but please be aware that they may require some adjustments to parameters due to non-standardized inner diameters. If you use a very large tube diameter, it may result in too small of a distance between the shoulder and hook tip. In this case, the script will print a warning, but you'll need to make manual changes to fix the issue. You can also modify the all_arcs and grab_full_height variables to some extent to adjust for this problem. It's technically possible to rewrite the script to automatically accommodate any tube diameter; if this is an issue, please let me know.
