This is a coaster featuring ancient rock paintings. Or cave paintings. The oldest animal cave painting known dates back over 40,000 years to a bull in Lubang Jeriji Saléh cave, East Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia. Cave paintings here are images found on Pinterest. https://nl.pinterest.com/pin/346917977532048894/?lp=true Petroglyphs are rock carvings created by removing part of a rock surface using techniques such as incising, picking, carving, or abrading, which is a form of rock art. Here are two 3D models: a positive and negative file. The print in the picture shows the negative one. Print it with single or multiple colors, filament, or resin to see what you can create. I'd love to see this model printed in different colors or materials. This coaster is standard size (100 by 100 by 5 mm), fitting perfectly in my coaster holders: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3130397 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3547597 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3546596 I printed this model using Ultimaker white PLA with a 0.2mm layer height and 18% infill. I used a 0.4mm nozzle at 210 degrees Celsius, a heated bed, and a brim to prevent curling up at the bottom. Feel free to use your own configuration. Design steps: I picked a logo from my browser and converted it into SVG format using Inkscape (see video). Then, I opened the SVG file in Blender and turned it into a 3D object. Next, I used Meshmixer to repair the file by clicking on the 'Inspector' button under the 'Analysis' tab. I also added a drink coaster in Meshmixer, which I designed using simple techniques in 123D Design. You can choose any program you prefer, such as Tinkercad or download a template from my website (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3542555). The negative model was created by subtracting the file from a coaster using 123Design, saving it as a STL file and slicing it for printing. However, since the model had some issues even after repairing in Meshmixer, I exported it to Netfabb Online Service for further repair. This free service worked well after modeling something. After that, I previewed the model in my slicer (which I recommend doing before printing a model). The preview looked great with perfect lines, so I could print it without any problems.
