Coaster 'geek' Unleash your inner nerd with this geeky coaster! Use it to cradle your favorite drink. This coaster utilizes the last 2.82 meters (~22 grams) of your spool. This is a standard-sized coaster (100 by 100 by 5 mm), designed to fit perfectly in my coaster holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3130397 I printed this model using Ultimaker white PLA. I employed a 0.2mm layer height and 18% infill. My extruder was set at 210 degrees Celsius, with a heated bed. To prevent the coaster from curling up at the bottom, I used a brim. Feel free to experiment with your own settings – no worries! Design Steps I selected a logo from my browser and converted it into an SVG format using Inkscape. Next, I opened the SVG file in Blender and transformed it into a 3D object. I then repaired the file and erased unwanted aspects in Meshmixer. To create the coaster, I used 123D Design's simple model techniques. You can also choose to design a template of a drink coaster using another program, such as Tinkercad. Alternatively, download my template from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3542555. After saving it as an STL file and slicing it for printing, I encountered some issues despite repairing the model in Meshmixer. To resolve this, I exported it to Netfabb Online Service. This app has proven to be a valuable tool for fixing STL files, offering unlimited procedures – unlike MakePrintable, which only provides three.
