CoastalTradeShip
thingiverse
Istanbul has always been a hub of commerce. This boat was a coastal trade vessel in the 16th century, according to the earliest recorded evidence, and it endured until mid-century. They primarily sailed on the Sea of Marmara, Bosphorus, and surrounding coastlines. The length of these vessels ranged from 15 to 20 meters, and they were constructed near İzmit Bay and İznik Gulf. A plan drawn in 1855 specifies dimensions as 15m long, 3.83m wide, and 2m deep. These boats were known as "Kancabaş," which translates directly to "hook head." A mesh edit was performed by me; the 3D model was created by Azmi AK on Grabcad (https://grabcad.com/library/ottoman-coastal-trade-ship-1). More information about the model can be found at http://freeshipplans.com/free-model-ship-plans/sall-sail-ship-plans/ottoman-coastal-trade-ship/.
