Coarse grater for Tefal
thingiverse
When I learned to make latkes with my grandmother, she always used a grater not a shredder for the potatoes and onion. I bought a Tefal Fresh Express machine to grate our potatoes, but the grater insert is far too fine. I decided to try making one myself, so I designed and printed it. It's not perfect, but it works just fine. I may try reworking it with slightly more aggressive teeth, but if they get too sharp, they could scratch the inside of the housing. I made it in PLA as that was all I had on hand, but I plan to get some polycarbonate from ProFab soon, since it's tougher and can handle higher temperatures, so it should be dishwasher safe. I designed it in TinkerCad, which took a while, and I made a few attempts before getting it right. I'm happy to share the TinkerCad file with anyone who wants to edit it themselves. I sliced it in Cura, setting it for the finest resolution possible, so that the teeth were well made and sharp.
