The patent application 13.502 for a turbo-propulseur, filed on December 3, 1910, was utilized in a motorized two-seat sled commissioned by Cyril Vladimirovich, the Grand Duke of Russia. With help from boat builder Despujols and engine manufacturer Gregoire, Coandă oversaw construction of a motor sled with a 30 hp (22 kW) Gregoire engine driving the turbo-propulseur. The sled was blessed by Russian Orthodox priests at Despujols' plant near Paris on December 2, 1910. It was exhibited from December 3 to December 15 at the 12th Automobile Salon of France, along with Gregoire-powered automobiles at the Gregoire stand. A number of magazines published photos or sketches of the sled, marking Coandă's turbo-propulseur design's second showing in Paris that autumn at the Grand Palais. However, no record exists of the sled being tested, despite a reported top speed of 97 km/h (60 mph).
