A CO2 Firing Device, initially designed to safeguard veterinarians handling wild animals, enables tranquilizing from a vehicle. It works with various barrels suitable for CO2 firing; even paintball barrels could be used in crowd control. The device's non-threaded CO2 outlet allows flexibility in attachment options. The CO2 Firing Device features two channels to pressurize the main piston, positioning it for pressure filling. To fire, a solenoid is activated, moving the solenoid piston and evacuating pressure from one side of the main piston. This action moves the main piston to its second position, delivering pressure to the attached barrel. Objet500 and Fortus 900mc 3D printers are utilized for manufacturing parts, with integrated o-rings printed directly onto parts on the Objet500. Assemblies may be printed together, such as the solenoid piston within the body. Future improvements include a stand for drone mounting and adapters to accommodate diverse barrel types.
