CO2 Sensor Case (NodeMCUv3)

prusaprinters

This case is designed to house a NodeMCUv3 (ESP8266) development board with a Sensorion SCD30 CO2 sensor. It can be used with any other sensor that fits in the open space above the NodeMCUv3 board, though. The case has built-in slots to allow free air flow.

The case has eight holes that are designed for M2.5 threaded inserts to be melted in. Four threaded inserts are used to attach the NodeMCU board to the case. The other four inserts are used to attach the lid to the rest of the case.

Dimensions of the required threaded inserts: M2.5x6x3.5

I have used the ESP8266 and the SCD30 sensor in combination with ESPHome to add CO2 measurements to our smart home.

The photos all feature version 1 of the case, which has generous spare space around and above the NodeMCU board. Version 2 is a little shorter with less spare space around the board, because I thought it looked a little clunky.

I have successfully printed the case without any supports in PLA.
