CO2 Rocket
thingiverse
This is a homemade rocket propelled by a 12-gram CO2 cartridge designed for BB guns, capable of soaring up to 50 feet into the air. We utilized a standard PVC pipe with a nail inserted at its bottom to puncture the seal on the canister's base. The resulting pressure surge from the compressed gas propelled the rocket forward. Building the launcher is surprisingly easy; all it takes is a piece of wood with a well-placed, sharp nail. To achieve optimal results, center the nail precisely and ensure it's razor-sharp. To launch the rocket, simply insert a CO2 cartridge into its chamber, secure the nose cone in place, position the rocket within the launcher tube, and firmly grip it with your thumb. Next, deliver a swift downward motion as hard as possible; the more force you apply, the higher the rocket will soar. Our testing estimates that this rocket reached a remarkable altitude of 50 feet during its maiden flight. Unfortunately, our second test ended in disaster when the rocket plummeted to the third floor of a construction site, leaving us with a cautionary tale about just how high it can go.
