CO2 Dragsters

Inspired by corben33, my students were tasked with designing CO2 cars using Autodesk Inventor. They then brought their designs to life on our Makerbot Replicator 2, printing a fleet of futuristic vehicles. These speedsters took center stage at the county fair, leaving spectators amazed and energized. The students beamed with pride as they watched their creations whizz by in a high-octane racing extravaganza. We couldn't wait to do it all again next year - faster than ever! Instructions for Printing Success The keyhole for the CO2 cartridge can be easily printed without support, thanks to Autodesk Inventor's intuitive design software and the Makerbot Replicator 2's impressive printing capabilities. However, some models featuring spoilers required additional support during the printing process, which could then be removed and the keyhole cleared. One particularly swift vehicle boasted a carefully crafted nose cone glued to its sleek front end, expertly designed using Autodesk Inventor. With a print resolution of just 5%, these high-performance cars held up with no signs of stress or fatigue.
