Flamers are among the most hideous and disturbing daemons of the Architect of Fate. Their upper bodies sport a mass of writhing heads that constantly contort and belch fire. Their eyes are black and soulless, like those of a shark, while their torsos are long and skirt-like, often compared to the upper bell of a jellyfish. Their arms, of which they can sport many, end on chitinous claws, which they use to project massive bolts of warpflame at their foes. While incredibly destructive, only the exalted amongst them are considered intelligent. Command from a Herald, Exalted Flamer, or Lord of Change is essential to ensure they remain obedient, lest they set anything in their path alight. Their fire is nothing like that of the material world. Its effects are unpredictable and erratic. As the victim burns, their bodies will be subject to countless mutations. Their flesh may turn to glass, or their metal weapons turned to wood, and then back into metal as it turns molten. The very embers will hiss and screech as the fire takes hold of its victim, all in a crude simulacrum of their master’s ever-shifting nature. In battle, they propel themselves with the very same fire that they throw. Their absurd-looking physiology allows them to glide through the air like fish through water. Their flight makes them quite agile, and this versatility sees them frequently employed to lead assaults, often supporting the cohorts of horrors with deadly columns of immolating fire.
