I acquired a 5500mW laser/cnc engraver, allowing me to mount limit switches and end stops with ease. Frustrated by the constant need to refocus the laser for each new project, I designed and 3D printed a Laser Height Post. This adjustable spacer fits onto the material being engraved and the top of it rests on the bottom of the laser/spindle holder. By adjusting the Z axis until the spindle holder sits comfortably on the spacer, I've simplified the engraving process significantly.
