CNC wood router - final year project
grabcad
This CNC machine project is my final year work in Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Bitola, Macedonia. The 3D model was created using SolidWorks 2016, with FEA also done in the same software. KeyShot rendered it. Hand calculations were made. Note that ballscrews aren't included in the 3D model but should be accounted for by builders, with specified types indicated. The profiles needed are steel S235JRH/EN10219. For the X-axis: RM2510-2450 ballscrew, BKBF17 bearings, SBR25-2500 linear slide, and SBR25UU sliders with a 6.35 to 12 coupler and NEMA23 600oz-in stepper; for the Y-axis: RM2010-1250 ballscrew, BKBF15 bearings, SBR20-1300 linear slide, and SBR20UU sliders with a 6.35 to 12 coupler and NEMA23 600oz-in stepper; for the Z-axis: RM2010-300 ballscrew, BKBF15 bearings, SBR20-350 linear slide, and SBR20UU sliders with a 6.35 to 12 coupler and NEMA23 600oz-in stepper. Omron limit switches, an emergency switch, and a Gecko G540 driver are other components. Links to ballscrews, linear slides, bearings, and couplers can be found on eBay.
