CNC Upgrade

CNC Upgrade

thingiverse

This upgrade is designed for cheap CNC engravers like the one found on https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWBLVYS and allows for use of a larger 52mm motor from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MN7WERA and Z axis linear bearings from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ED150S4. Note that purchasing items this inexpensive has its drawbacks, which is why we have 3D printing. The OpenScad file contains variables that can be useful for upgrading similar CNC machines. You will need an OpenSCAD version of 2016.XX or later to modify and render the vacuum adapter, which may only be available as a development snapshot. Note that you will also need to upgrade your Z axis stepper to accommodate the additional weight of the tool. Additionally, consider reconfiguring your CNC frame to keep the motor centered in the build area. Update: Extra clearance has been added from the Z axis frame and experimental vacuum ports have been included (the vacuum attachment is not well tested and requires a boot or brushes). Print Settings: Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: Standard .18mm Infill: 20% Notes: There may be some bridging, but you should not need supports.
