Dust Shoe for Small Footprint in Tight Spaces: Ideal for CNC Spindle and Portable Vacuum. Utilizes Regular Vacuum Hose Connection for Convenient Setup. The dust shoe features a 3.15-inch diameter connection compatible with Chinese-made CNC spindles, enabling seamless integration into compact machine designs. Its narrow design ensures tight fitment, ensuring optimal clearance in crowded workspaces. To create this dust shoe, the designer leveraged CAD software like Autodesk 123D and Netfabb to generate a precise model for their home-built Maker Gear printer. Following 3D printing using Slic3r & Printer Interface settings, they carefully machined a hole at the base of the brush's shelf to fit around it and used a band saw to remove excess material from the lower portion. Using a common vacuum cleaner hose end piece as inspiration, the user made cuts near its brushes, collecting tubes for better fitting onto flat sides after being treated with strong 5-Minute Epoxy bonds, further reinforcing this sturdy attachment by cutting one central hole.
