I Build a Hobby CNC Plotter Using Inexpensive Materials. Mostly all of my parts are printed using the 3D printer. Even the enclosure for my controller is produced with this very plotter I'm building. My design is based around aluminum square tubing measuring 25x25. Here's a video showing off my creation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJQgnGs-r40&feature=youtu.be Z uses a NEMA 17 stepper motor, while X and Y use NEMA 23 units. The belts used for Z measure 300-3GT-6 in length, with belt Y motors set to 255 5M - 15mm, and the X and Y belts set to 5M - 15mm, which really depends on your machine's dimensions.
