CNC pen / sharpie holder for plotter
thingiverse
Use your CNC router as a plotter! This was inspired by TadasM, a talented creator who uploaded their design to Thingiverse. However, I wanted to simplify and refine the concept for clean and easy printing without supports, so I built my own version from scratch in Fusion 3D. I'm thrilled with the outcome and appreciate how the spring is seamlessly integrated into the design - it actually works! This project requires a 1/4" x 4" screw from Home Depot, which can be easily modified by cutting off the threaded end to create a precise 3 1/4" shaft. All other screws are standard 8-32 bolts with perfectly realized Class 2B threads in the STL file, eliminating the need for retapping. I've carefully set all dimensions within the file to ensure a snug fit between the top collar and the shaft, even without the screw. The bottom collars slide smoothly but firmly onto the shaft without any play. The screw holes are precisely threaded with 8-32 threads and manually adjusted for an exact fit. This design accommodates standard Sharpies as well as double-sided markers, and I'll be sharing more photos of it in action on my CNC router soon!
