CNC Mist Coolant Lubrication Spray System Collar!
thingiverse
I've been doing more aluminum machining on my 3040 CNC lately, and I wanted to add a cheap misting system. However, I wanted it to be removable so I can use my dust collector when working with wood or plastic. That's why I designed this collar that cinches and mounts with M5 bolts to secure the mister (check out more here: https://amzn.to/2WP0e0p). You'll need some 25mm long M5 bolts (see more here: https://amzn.to/2xPipdX) for mounting, and two more M5 bolts around 12mm long (see more here: https://amzn.to/2WhmVez) to cinch the collar. I used PETG because it's strong, and Overture PETG (check out more here: http://diy3dtech.com/petg) is a great option. Note that all four are threaded, so make sure you use no more than 0.2mm layer height when printing, and clean up the threads with a metric tap set if needed (see more here: https://amzn.to/2zy6TEl). As for providing air for the mister, California Air Tools offers an excellent solution for hobbyists - it's quiet, cost-effective, and reliable. The compressor I'm using is the steel dual tank version (check out more here: https://amzn.to/3bmS5Wg), but if you're looking for a more affordable option, their single tank version (see more here: https://amzn.to/3dHC3rv) might work better for lower cycle time applications.
