This is a basic steady rest for supporting components positioned in the fourth (rotational) axis of a CNC mill. It keeps the stock in place while milling from above using a down-spiral or straight flute cutter. A counter-rotating cutter would lift the stock, however. It's designed specifically for T-slot tables equipped with M6 bolts. The following components are required: 2x 608ZZ skateboard ball bearings 4x hex-key bolts (M8 x 25 mm or longer) 4x washers (8 mm thick) to prevent the bearings from being clamped down 2x wingnuts (M8) 2x nuts (M8) Updated: This design also functions effectively on T-slot tables featuring 9mm slots and 72mm gaps, such as those found on the YOOCNC 6040+Z.
