CNC Microscope Tele adapter holder

Using a webcam or microscope to visually set the reference point on a CNC is remarkably straightforward. However, due to their short focal length, these devices need to be positioned very close to the workpiece. To maintain a safe distance, attaching a Telephoto lens can be an effective solution. Here's a simple adapter that allows you to plug in both a microscope and a tele lens, which are readily available on Ebay. I also designed a basic (though somewhat fragile) support for a CNC mill. The outcome is impressive! It works beautifully. My only concern is centering the optical axis, as the microscope's sensor is slightly tilted. This results in a slight displacement of the crosshairs over the workpiece whenever you adjust the Z axis. Nonetheless, this issue can be resolved with some fine-tuning. Designed using Cubify Design (Alibre). The source files are also available for download. The photograph showcases the crosshairs, with the distance between ruler marks measuring 0.5mm. The wall mount is designed to securely hold the optics in place using zip-ties. It utilizes as little material as necessary. In the future, I plan to design a fully protective enclosure.
