CNC Laser Sight or Mount
thingiverse
This is a precision laser sight designed to expedite setting the X and Y origin (0,0) on a CNC router. Tailored specifically for my Probotix spindle mount, I've included the Fusion 360 file so you can customize it to fit your machine's unique specifications. After attaching the sight to your device, use VCarve to draw an X with the center point at 0,0 - then activate your laser and measure its offset by raising the router as high as possible for a consistent measuring height. You can now utilize this offset (or its negative) in conjunction with the laser to swiftly set the X-Y zero point. To witness the laser sight in action, watch this video: https://youtu.be/l4VMo9DCzO8?t=23m36s - specifically at 23 minutes and 36 seconds. I fabricated this laser sight using PETG to withstand the sweltering temperatures in my garage during the summer months. Here's a list of required hardware: * Laser with red cross lines: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BP42YMW * On/Off button: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ESEEXXS * Connector wires (JST Plugs ): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013WTV270 * 1/2" #6 screws for attaching the cover * AAA x2 battery pack.
