## CNC Ergon Slingshot DXF / Zwille / Steinschleuder * Part A * Part B * Part C = Part A + Part C I have converted the 3D model of the ergonomic Slingshot for CNC. You can mill two sides and then glue them together with wood glue. I rounded off the edges at the end with a router. A Slingshot can also be used very well as a template to create a copy manually with the scroll saw. ## Made on CNC3018PRO * MDF Laminate 5.6 mm (two sides glued together) * Fxy 400 mm / minute (ideal feed for MDF) * Fz 100 mm / minute * milling cutter 1.58 mm (2.08 mm at CAM software) To correct the spindle frictions, I add 0.5 mm to the real diameter of 1.58 mm. This means that for CNC3018PRO in the CAM software the diameter is given as 2.08 mm for a 1.58 mm cutter. The material is very sturdy and feels comfortable in the hand. The outside of the laminate is protected with a layer of varnish. I painted the edges several times with wood glaze. ## Pocket slingshot version This slingshot don't fits very well in the pocket. I have created another CNC ergononic pocket slingshot (<a href="/thing:5993766">thing-5993766</a>) model for only three fingers. You can also create a second slingshot with the same anchor point. ## munition & rubber band munition / projectiles: - 11mm steel 5.5g - 8mm steel 2.0g - 5mm steel 0.5g - 8mm clay ball 1.0g - 6mm chickpea 0.2g - 9mm stone 0.9g - 12mm stone 2.0g - 16mm stone 4.9g rubber band: - 13.5 lb tube black ~ 278 ft/s (84.73 m/s) - 9.93 lb tube 2040 ~ 221 ft/s (67.36 m/s) - 8.25 lb latex green ~ 194 ft/s (59.13 m/s) - 4.71 lb latex yellow ~ 138 ft/s (42.06 m/s) - 4.25 lb latex natural ~ 130 ft/s (39.62 m/s) latex natural: - 4.25 lb (1.93 kg) pull soft - 130 ft/s (39.62 m/s) speed - 4.32 Joule / 0.0055 kg steel11 - 1.57 Joule / 0.0020 kg steel8 - 0.87 Joule / 0.0005 kg steel5 - 0.39 Joule / 0.0010 kg clay ball - 0.16 Joule / 0.0002 kg chickpea - 0.71 Joule / 0.0009 kg stone9 - 1.58 Joule / 0.0020 kg stone12 - 3.86 Joule / 0.0049 kg stone16 latex green: - 8.25 lb (3.75 kg) pull medium - 194 ft/s (59.13 m/s) speed - 9.61 Joule / 0.0055 kg steel11 - 3.50 Joule / 0.0020 kg steel8 - 0.78 Joule / 0.0005 kg steel5 - 1.75 Joule / 0.0010 kg clay ball - 0.35 Joule / 0.0002 kg chickpea - 1.57 Joule / 0.0009 kg stone9 - 3.49 Joule / 0.0020 kg stone12 - 8.55 Joule / 0.0049 kg stone16 tube black: - 13.5 lb (6.14 kg) pull strong - 278 ft/s (84.73 m/s) speed - 19.74 Joule / 0.0055 kg steel11 - 7.18 Joule / 0.0020 kg steel8 - 1.79 Joule / 0.0005 kg steel5 - 3.59 Joule / 0.0010 kg clay ball - 0.72 Joule / 0.0002 kg chickpea - 3.23 Joule / 0.0009 kg stone9 - 7.18 Joule / 0.0020 kg stone12 - 17.59 Joule / 0.0049 kg stone16 hunting shoots: - bird (head) 15 Joule (11 FPE) - squirrel (head) 15 Joule (11 FPE) - rabbit (head) 15 Joule (11 FPE) - fox (rib) 50 Joule (35 FPE) - deer (rib) 200 Joule (150 FPE) - hog (rib) 270 Joule (200 FPE) The survey shows that for hunting would need very strong rubber bands and heavy ammunition. In many countries hunting with a slingshot is not allowed.
