This mount serves as a means for attaching a dial gauge directly to the spindle of a desktop CNC router. Specifically, it accommodates a spindle with a collet thread of 14mm in diameter. The gauge itself is a widely used type that measures approximately 2 inches across. To install the gauge, start by removing the four screws that hold the back plate securely in place. Next, carefully pull off the plate and replace it with this print. To connect the mount to the spindle, first move the spindle away from the bed of the CNC router. Then, remove the collet, slip the mount onto the spindle, and screw the collet back on to secure the mount firmly in position. To test the level of your bed or more accurately, tram it, begin by moving the probe to a point directly over the bed of the CNC router. Next, lower the Z axis 1 to 2 mm and note the reading displayed on the gauge. Repeat this process for each corner of the bed and its center, taking care to record the readings obtained from each location. By comparing these readings, you can determine how far off your bed is from being perfectly perpendicular to the spindle.
