CNC Arduino / Grbl Shield stack w/ 60mm fan
thingiverse
This is an Arduino Uno + Grbl Shield + Stepper Driver + 60mm fan assembly. I have redesigned my earlier project for an Arduino Mega 2560 slide-in holder and also modified the MOAB fan bracket to drive a small CNC like the Shapeoko. The 60mm fan provides sufficient airflow to run stepper motors at or near their maximum current rating without worrying about thermal shutdown. In theory, this allows up to 2.5A for DRV8825 stepper drivers but realistically around 2A can be expected. The OpenSCAD source code is included so the design can be remixed further. This project uses GPLV3 license. Instructions As shown printed in Green PLA with 35% infill. Note that the slide-in holder must be mounted vertically with Arduino Uno inserted from top and USB connector facing down. Fan brackets require four M3 x 16mm hex screws and nuts. Slide-in holder is designed for wood screws but can also work with M5 screws.
