CNC Adapter
thingiverse
This adapter enables your 3D printer's transformation into a CNC machine by accommodating a 300W engraving DC spindle (52mm diameter). The base plate has M4 holes with 50mm center-to-center distance for easy installation. Spindles are commonly found on eBay and usually include an ER11 collet, weighing approximately 800 grams (twice an extruder's weight). Note that this design might require modifications to fit your specific printer; however, if it works, please share the results. Don't forget to limit the Z-axis travel to accommodate the spindle. For a Dremel variant, check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:296799. Additional parts needed include 3x 30mm M3 screws and nuts for clamping the spindle and 2x M4 screws with nuts (height depends on your printer, typically 10-16mm). My printed version used PLA, 0.2mm layer height, and 50% infill, which proved strong enough.
