CNC 3040/6040 Flip-up Dust Shoe
thingiverse
This is a dust shoe I crafted for my 3040 CNC machine. The shoe mounts on a bracket at the top of the motor mount, and locks into the heatsink when pulled down tightly. A 5mm threaded bolt holds the bracket firmly in place. There's also a slot to fit a 6mmx20mm switch in the bracket, making it easy to home the Z Axis. A 19 inner diameter hose couples onto the shoe with precision. I acknowledge that this design is far from perfect, and a spring-loaded shoe would have been ideal. However, this stiff shoe could potentially snap off easily if you ram it into a workpiece, so I recommend using a very soft material like brushes instead of the clear plastic shown in the pictures. Print Settings: Printer: MOD-T Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.4 Infill: 30 Notes: It took about 12 hours to print the shoe. The bracket printed much faster. You should set rafts to 'everywhere' in Cura.
