Recently I purchased a Chinese-made CNC 3018 "PRO" Milling / Engraving Machine (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/CNC3018pro-withER11-diy-mini-cnc-engraving-machine-laser-engraving-Pcb-PVC-Milling-Machine-wood-router-cnc/214974_32918305989.html?spm=a2g1y.12024536.productList_11474571.pic_4) and felt the need for some upgrades. After searching online, I found very few parts available for the PRO model, so I remixed some components from the 3018 standard model to fit in the PRO and designed new end stops holders. Some Key Features: - The end stops are adjustable, allowing you to position them according to your needs; - Three types of cable guides: rail holder for thin cables, thick cables, and double-side tape holder; - Electronics Box: Thicker walls and a curved bottom provide extra strength; - Electronics Box 2: Four holes on top for holding the offline controller; - Motor handwheels: Size adjusted to fit between the screws of the CNC. Credits and Thanks: 8 SqFeet for the amazing CNC Collection: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2796202 Alexandr_sk8 for his electronics box design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2844525 Important Notes: - The switches I used are larger than usual, as smaller ones were not available in my area; - After installing the end stops, you must inform the CNC that it has end stops by sending command "$21=1" to the board. More information can be found here: https://github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki/Grbl-v1.1-Configuration#20---soft-limits-boolean - Once the end stops are activated, the Offline controller will stop working. To make it work again, use "$21=0". If you know a way to make it work with the end stops enabled, please let me know. Additional Features: I've added two switches on the box cover: one for the box fan (it's a bit too loud) and another for the Spindle (a safe precaution). Both were installed using a soldering iron after the box was printed, which is why there are no holes on the part. The end stop switch holders for the X and Y axes are different; use the Front and Back model (Y) or Left and Right one (X), but don't print the same model twice! Extra Resources: Good information on the Model: http://wiki.sainsmart.com/index.php/101-60-280PRO How to wire the switches: https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/5912573/22929087/89c715ce-f2c2-11e6-9ffc-6f078f510d74.jpg g-code config example: https://github.com/gnea/grbl/issues/123 Edit: 22/jul/2019 As suggested by Eigengrow, here is the print list and the board I used: Bed_Clamp_E - for Printed Circuit Board only (optional) CableGuides(A,B) - Almost the same, only the opening for inserting the cables is different; I used 7 (2 B and 5 A) to be used on the frame (optional) Cable_Guides_C - To be used with double-side tape. I used 5 (optional) Electronics_Box and Electronics_Box_Cover - Self-explanatory :-) - x1 End_Stop_Rail_Nut - x4 - one for each end stop (2 for X and 2 for Y Axis) Handle_Knob - x2 - one for each Motor Handle X_Motor_Hande - x1 Y_Motor_Hande - x1 Z-Motor_Cable_Guide - x1 Z_End_Stops - x2 X_End_Stop_Switch_Hold_A - x1 X_End_Stop_Switch_Hold_B - x1 Y_End_Stop_A - x1 Y_End_Stop_B - x1 Y_End_Stop_Switch_Hold_A - x1 Y_End_Stop_Switch_Hold_B - x1 The electronic model used was Woodpecker 3.2 GRBL.
