One of the benefits of installing bed risers to my CNC is that I can easily pass the front edge of the bed, making it an ideal spot to attach a microswitch as a tool length offset probe. This setup mounts to the front, slightly elevated, allowing for a printed sacrificial bed and PCB bracket, along with some wiring channels on either side. It's connected in parallel with the Z probe (A5 on most GRBL boards).
