This lifesize marble sculpture of a young girl named Clélia was created by Hector Lemaire in 1865. Born on August 15th, 1846 in Lille, France, Lemaire went on to study at the academic school of Lille before continuing his artistic studies in Paris. There, he won numerous prizes and joined forces with fellow artists Auguste Dumont and Alexandre Falguiere at the school of fine arts. After returning to Lille in 1866, Lemaire traveled to Rome, where he drew inspiration for his sculptures that showcased exceptional attention to detail and figure representation. He spent the rest of his life in Paris, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted artworks. This sculpture is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative led by MyMiniFactory, aimed at creating a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access.
