Clypeus ploti

A Jurassic period specimen, specifically a Clypeus ploti fossil, measures 10 by 10 centimeters and stands 1.5 centimeters tall. Its age is estimated to be from the Middle Jurassic to the Dogger period. This particular fossil was discovered on the outskirts of the Paris Basin. A total of 198 photographs were taken using an APS-C reflex camera in a photo studio setting, allowing for the creation of a three-dimensional model through photogrammetry techniques. The reconstruction process was carried out by SIGéo in collaboration with CEREGE and OSU PYTHEAS at Aix-Marseille Université during June of 2018.
