Clutch for automotive windshield wipers servo
thingiverse
I acquired a shield wiper from a VW T3 Bus at a low cost. I decided to start building a filament extruder, which would be controlled by a CMOS cam in a cascade control setup for filament thickness regulation. I required significant torque, so the NEMA servos were either too pricey or insufficiently powerful. As I examined the wiper servo, I designed a clutch specifically tailored to conical gearing requirements. It's a pot-based solution consisting of two components: 1. The first part is attached to the servo shaft with the conical gearing inside. 2. The second part is secured to the first component using screws with an elastomeric clutch adaptation for an inner diameter of 10mm and H6 adjustment. I printed it at 100% infill, but I'm uncertain if less infill could be used effectively. However, neither testing nor assembly has taken place yet.
