Clothes pin one piece
thingiverse
I modelled a one-piece clothespin that should print out fairly easily, with wall thickness set at 1.2mm. I saw a similar design made from bent steel and thought PLA could work just as well, so I designed the red one ("one piece clip.stl"). To improve grip, I added some teeth to get the green one ("one piece clip2.stl"), and enlarging the spring circle might enhance functionality, which resulted in the yellow one ("one piece clip3.stl"). I created thicker versions with walls 1.6mm thick; look for files with "_1_6" at the end, as they feature these heavier walls. Further analysis led me to notice that the original metal clip has a reinforcement channel, so I've added this feature to the design, reflected in any file with "improved structure" in its name. Try out "clothes pin lofted3.stl" for the most up-to-date model. Don't let the last photo mislead you - it's really only holding the hat because loose filament acts like velcro.
