I made a replacement for a weak component included in some foldable clothes hangers. The key benefit is that in the original design they had to create the part symmetrical to minimize injection mold costs, but we don't have that constraint, so I can simply flip it and produce the opposite piece. By doing this, I avoid having to counterbore the screw on both sides, resulting in a significantly stronger final product.
