Clothes hanger grabber
thingiverse
My girlfriend just moved into a new flat and her closet features a very tall two-tier clothes rod for hanging clothes. The bottom one is easy to reach, but the top one remains out of her grasp. I've seen store displays with high-up clothes, where they employ a pole with an upside-down hook to grab hangers. To boost the girlfriend acceptance factor, I decided to create my own solution. Here's the current design in progress. It attaches to the end of a broomstick and features two separate parts: the main one fits onto the cylinder, which can be glued on one end and slotted onto the end of a broom handle. By keeping them separate, I avoided printing supports for the oddly shaped item, allowing me to scale the cylinder to fit any size broom stick or pole while still accommodating the hook nicely. The design is intentionally bulky to support heavy coats. However, it still needs some work – specifically, it requires support on the end of the round section on the hook. Print settings are as follows: printer brand is RepRap, model is i3, rafts aren't necessary, supports are required, resolution is 0.3mm, and infill is set at 20%.
