I refashioned RandallOfLegend's ClosetMaid Rail Post Coupler into a sturdy foot that can be split in two, yielding a superior alternative to the flimsy rubber stopper usually provided. In fact, I now prefer using this solid piece as a post cap, reserving the softer rubber for its intended purpose.
