These will ensure that your closet door can not be shut completely for ventilation, access for a pet, or any other reason you want your closet to remain slightly propped open. In our home, we have our cat's litter box in a spare bedrooms closet. We like to keep the door open just enough for that cat to slip in and out, so that it hides the litter box itself. Additionally, I have mounted a rack-mount server vertically on the closet wall in my office, and have not installed any sophisticated ventilation system. This ensures that someone doesn't come along and close the door causing it to get uncomfortably warm in the closet, and that the server keeps humming along happily.
