Our instructors designed three-dimensional printed plasmids and inserts that were cut with either blunt-end or sticky-end restriction enzymes or a combination of both, providing students the opportunity to investigate how inserts bond with cloning vectors through ligation. They also introduced blue/white screening and antibiotic-selectable markers for added educational value.
