Clonedel -- A Prusa Mendel Inspired RepStrap

thingiverse

The Clonedel RepStrap, inspired by the Prusa Mendel, was developed to address students' need for quicker construction of RepRap-style machines. In just a week outside class, parts were redesigned for mold production, with most requiring minor modifications and others, like the X-Carriage assembly, needing full redesign. Modified parts were placed on mold pattern plates for silicone RTV mold creation. STL files are available as Open3DP fork off of Prusa tree, labeled as Alpha release but proven to produce molds successfully. Mold plates follow best practices from reputable sources. Metrix Create Space has already created mold sets and cast parts for easy access. To create parts, print mold masters, cast silicone RTV molds, and pour Clonedel parts; drilling will be necessary using a drill press. Note that X-Clamps aren't interchangeable between the X-Idler and X-Motor Mount.
