I am the one and true GOD of procrastination. After another year gone down the dustbin of memory I willed into existence a brand new set of RC4WD 40 Series Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ and they were good. A few hours of cadtime I totally rebuilt my earlier rim design from ground up, or should I say build plate up. In addition to the main rim (outer tapered) I added a flat bottomed version (outer), a super narrow version and a 10 mm spacer to adjust for different width tires. The super narrow rims are mostly for cut and glued custom tires. I reamed the 8 holes for bolting the two halves together with a 4mm drillbit and after thaey were assembled reamed the axle hole with a 5mm drillbit. Hardware per rim: 8 M4 x 20mm socket head 8 M4 lock nuts 14 M4 x1 2mm socket head 14 M4 x 12mm Countersink I had a hard time finding a good selection of barrel nuts to bolt the wheels on. I settled on Junfac M4 x 12mm barrel nuts and set hub depth and backspacing to accommodate. I had great time designing these rims and was impressed on how much better the rc4wd tires were compared to my 30+ year clod tires, but I still have different rim designs floating around in my empty head, maybe next year. Enjoy and Rock On. Edit12/17/20 : I had a problem stripping out the hexs so I reprinted the inners at 100% infill and that seems to have taken care of the problem. Ps; Is there anybody left on this platform. Views are nonexistent, downloads are way down, am I shouting in an empty room, is it time to go. WHERE?
