Clockwork Spring

In response to a query regarding converting a curve helix sketch to an unfolded state, I shared my method using Alibre Design software to create a clockwork spring sheet metal part model. This process is efficient and straightforward (see Clockwork Spring.pdf). High-end software like Inventor or Solid Works can achieve similar results through the contour flange tool; thus, I demonstrated examples of this type of part using an older version of Solid Edge and Inventor. Personally, I prefer Alibre Design as my go-to software due to its effectiveness in metal fabrication projects compared to more expensive alternatives.
