Clockwork Coaster

This is a glass coaster with a set of planetary gears inside.When you rotate the outer ring the glass will rotate in the opposite direction. You can print all of the parts in their natural orientation.You need to print three planet gears and one of each other part.The base of the coaster is pretty smooth so you might want to add small silicone self-adhesive feet there to avoid slippage when using the rotating mechanism. Recommended slicer settings:0.4 mm nozzle;0.15 mm layer height (quality preset in Prusa Slicer);3 perimeters;Aligned seam position;For the ring it is recommended to avoid crossing perimeters (in Prusa Slicer - an expert setting ‘Avoid crossing perimeters’ in Print Settings →Layers and Perimeters →Quality), otherwise you might end up with a lot of stringing on the inside and you will need to clean it;The ornament part can be printed in two colors;Assembly:Take the base and place the sun gear on the middle shaft. Make sure the hexagonal key hole is facing up;Take three planet gears and place them on the three pegs on the base around the sun gear. Make sure the smooth side of the gears is facing down;Take the ring and place it around the planet gears, make sure the part with the gear is on the bottom and engages the plane gears properly;Place the top inside the ring and align the hexagonal cutout with the one on the sun gear;Take the connector and press it in place. It might require some wiggling of the parts and in the end it should sit flat with the surface of the top part;Take the ornament and press it into the top;It is recommended to add some self-adhesive silicone feet to the underside of the coaster to ensure it stays in place when you rotate the ring;
