Clock Vitesse Arnhem
thingiverse
My son is a huge fan of the Dutch Premier Division soccer club Vitesse, so I decided to create something special for his new living quarters. I ordered some affordable clock modules from China, costing just 70 eurocents each. I designed the clock face in Vitesse's iconic colors: yellow, black, and white. The bottom 1.5mm is a bright yellow, followed by 1.5mm of sleek black, and then a clean white finish above that. To achieve this look, I had to tell my g-code to change colors at specific points - either through manual input or using Prusacontrol software, which was already installed on my computer since I own a Prusa 3D printer. Due to the clock face's large diameter of 200mm, I had to print the first layer at a slower speed of 55% to ensure a smooth finish. Although it wasn't perfect, the subsequent layers hid any small imperfections. After printing was complete, I assembled the clock and captured the process on camera for all to see - you can view the video here. Once satisfied with my work, I attached the clock module to the back of the face and made sure everything was secure and functioning properly. To make the clock wall-mountable, I created a set of spacers that could be glued onto the back of the face. The STL files are included in the package - one with a hole for attaching to a screw is placed at 12 o'clock, while the other two are situated at 4 and 8 o'clock. The finished product may be simple, but it's undeniably personalized and lovely.
