Clock Script for Reduced Friction (4 gears, 2 shafts)

Clock Script for Reduced Friction (4 gears, 2 shafts)

thingiverse

This four-gear alternative for the printable clock reduces friction with concentric shafts supporting hands and is faster to print. The 60:1 reduction is achieved through 8x7.5, while the 12:1 reduction is accomplished as 4x3. However, this leads to smaller gear teeth size compared to the eight-gear version. This design depends on MCAD involute_gear library and clockwork library. Assemble parts from STL files or modify script, then use laidOutToPrint() to generate new STLs for printing. Printing requires M3 shafts with 2mm outer diameter and 0.5mm clearance. Future frames improvements are underway with rustedrobot. Early adopters can test print gear teeth for feasibility.
