Clock prototype 1

Clock prototype 1

thingiverse

This sneak peek showcases a work-in-progress clock design featuring an incomplete geartrain. The current prototype lacks hour/minute/second hands and has a backwards spinning minute gear. The main objective was to confirm if it's feasible to print the entire gear train from escapement to hours gear, which successfully spins when moderate force is applied. A 1.5lb weight on the drum of the hours gear effectively rotates the geartrain, indicating good alignment tolerance. However, the string interferes with the gears. The front pieces obscure the gears while operating; a functioning pendulum clock with a ~1-meter pendulum is expected within a day. Most screws are M3, stainless steel, and 55mm long for reference, with backing squares measuring 100mm x 100mm.
