The clock gear assembly involves mounting the gears on adjacent spindles, which are then meshed using an adjustment knob for accurate depth and smooth operation. Once satisfactory alignment is achieved, the tool is turned vertical, marking clock plates with sharp points at spindle ends to ensure correct pivot hole drilling for proper arbor placement.
