With some small variations I've used a similar design for a number of clocks - this time for my tuning fork clock (shown here). The glass panels (2mm thick) slide in the grooves machined in the parts and the whole is held by M2 screws; four flat head from the bottom and four machined with the balls on the top. This clock is battery driven, hence the latching door on the bottom
